humans are humans, no matter where

The world is so big, with approx 7.7 billion people residing everywhere. The funny thing is, while every person is uniquely their own, every human’s instincts and emotions are similar. We are just raised in different environments.

This is one of the most notable lessons I have learned in my journey abroad thus far. While everyone has different food preferences, attention spans, and styles; love and happiness are something we all have in common.

Every place I have traveled there are lovers hugging, kids eating ice cream, and families taking family photos. Last weekend I was on the train to Rome and in every little town I passed through I saw new buildings, but would still see children on swings and owners walking their dogs.

Children just want to play, teenagers just want to feel accepted, and adults just want to live their purpose and keep their kids safe. I am in a city with students who are from coast to coast in my own country, and yet we are all here to do the same two things: travel and go to European clubs… I mean study!

Regardless, human drive and emotion are alike everywhere.

I wish that this is something that would be taught in school because it would generate a more empathetic and loving atmosphere. It creates a sense of unity and makes a large world feel smaller.

Our cultures separate us but our hearts connect us.

It sounds like I’m creating a campaign for world peace here but you get the point. I guess that is what 3 espresso shots does to a girl who can’t even handle one cup of coffee.
